Vintage Toyokoki CPO Sterling Silver Japanese Pearl Butterfly Pin Brooch & Jewelry Box. This vintage Toyokoki CPO Sterling silver Japanese pearl butterfly pin brooch and jewelry box dates from the 1940s. It is made of Sterling silver stamped "Silver 950" with a decorative etched engraved design and set with 8 varying sizes, color of real pearls. Toyokoki Japanese silver was expertly made during occupied Japan after WWII and CPO stands for the Central Purchasing Agency for the US Army, Navy bases in Japan.

This beautiful butterfly shaped brooch has cut out design wings scalloped along the bottom set with pearls, has the "CPO" stamp on the back and has a hinged bar pin with trombone clasp closure. The brooch measures 3 inches long and is in good condition with only some slight tarnish discoloration. Included is the original presentation gift box covered in a blue gold stamped paper with the CPO label on the bottom, lined in white silk and has a push button clasp closure.

The box has some wear with paper lifting underneath (see close-ups). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of Japanese quality made jewelry wearable art! Items come from a nonsmoking environment.
