S word with 4 holes in tang, unsigned. Early tsuba with silver inlaid figure on one side and a creek with leaves on the other. The handle with original mixed metal inlaid fittings & worn old sharkskin handle with one fine silver lobster menuki remaining. Sword blade length 22", Overall is 27". From a local CA collectors estate.
The blade has old deep patina has a few small chips to the blade edge as it shows its use & history. The old red lacquered scabbard has a painted black dragon design with matching mixed metal hardware. Damage to the base of the scabbard now wrapped.
