Very Fine Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase w/ Cranes-Unique Coloring-Gonda Attrib. A very beautiful antique Meiji cloisonne vase. Finely detailed five multi colored cranes fly around entire vase in fine silver wire invarious forms are exquisite. Fine avoid body with unique red/orange ground.
Shoulder and neck has beautiful finely detailed border work in many colors. Dark tiny circular scroll at base puts finishing touch. This vase exhibits very high standard of fine Japanese hand craftsmanship. I estimate from the early Meiji Period.
The cloison detail work in silver wire is outstanding and was certainly performed by a master of Japanese cloisonne. Unsigned, has been attributed to Gonda.
This antique vase is in excellent original condition. No cracks, repairs, or dents.
I don't see any flaws. Approximate size is 5 tall. Please see photos as an integral part of this description. Sometimes the camera catches what I don't. From my own personal collection, this fine vase would be an excellent addition to your own cloisonne collection.
