Up for your consideration is a very fine, hand-painted Japanese Satsuma porcelain vase, c. The vase is signed on the underside in red and gold, with the Shimasu mon. The vase is meant to be viewed with two sides showing, as it is a continuous scene.
The opposite side of the vase depicts another two-sided grouping of men. The vase includes precisely detailed raised designs (unusual for Satsuma), and is of the highest quality. The vase measures 10" tall, and 4.5" wide (on each side). It is in excellent condition, with nearly complete retention of the gold finish. There are no chips, cracks, or restorations.
