Super Japanese Meiji Satsuma Kogo- Lidded Box with Fine Designs. It has top quality painting over the top of the exterior and interior of the box. The lid of the box is finely decorated with a round center scroll with a samurai standing between young and an older lady. Thee are finely decorated nine heart-shaped scrolls around it with various scenes of aristocrat men and women on them. The rest of the lid and exterior of the box is also finely decorated with finely painted decorations. The interior of the box has a scene of three saints, samurai and two children over landscape with a flying kannon above their heads in the sky. The interior of a lid has gorgeous painting of a flying kannon as well. The worn signature of the maker is located in the center of the bottom.
The box in excellent condition with no hairlines, chips, cracks or losses or restorations. It is 4 diameter x 1 ¾ tall.
