For your consideration is a superbly carved Japanese silver pin dish or tray. I acquired this wonderful pin tray nearly 40 years ago, and the attention to detail is outstanding.
The back of the tray is signed with five characters, the last being a kao, or the artists cursive monogram. Given the high quality of the carving, the tray most likely dates from the Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). The tray rests on a thick circular foot. The diameter of this small silver dish is approximately 3.0 inches. This beautiful silver pin tray will be packed with tremendous care. The item "Small Japanese Silver Pin Tray Finely Carved with a Duck Design" is in sale since Sunday, April 4, 2021.
