Meiji period Japanese fine carved Boxwood Netsuke of a yawning man reading
Fine carved meiji period carved Boxwood Netsuke, depicting a man yawning, cross legged, with a book on his lap. Mind blowing detail, this is a museum quality carving. You can pick out his tiny teeth, his fingernails, toes, the wrinkles around his eyes. Note: where the himotoshi are, there is a line, which at first glance looks like a crack, however it is just the continuing seam of the man's jacket, which he is sitting on, such is the attention to detail. Measures approx 3.5cm x 3cm x 3.5cm. The item "Meiji period Japanese fine carved Boxwood Netsuke of a yawning man reading" is in sale since Friday, July 16, 2021.
