Antique Japanese Shakudo ring with sterling mounts. The bottom has a gold boat in waves.
It measures 1 3/8" high by 3/4" wide. It retains the original old surface. It is in great condition. Shakudo, invented by the Japanese, is a metal alloy of copper which contains 3% to 5% of gold.
It has a very dark blue color approaching black and traditionally was mostly used for sword fittings and handles. This shaped piece was made from the pommel cap covering the tip of the hilt of Japanese swords. All items guaranteed as described and photographed.
