Imagawa (Imagawa-jyo) is a textbook of family precepts that Imagawa Tadayo of Samurai gave to his younger brother Nakaaki in 1412. It included the lessons of 23 and was used as a textbook of moral education and calligraphy for children in the Edo period.
Onna means a woman in Japanese, and Imagawa for girls is Onna Imagawa. The first scan is a woman who performs a curse ceremony at midnight. Her distorted heart resonates with the different world and summons an evil existence.
There is no other Onna Imagawa with such a mysterious illustrations like included in this book. One of the hidden masterpieces of Hokusai.
