Fine Pair of Small Japanese Meiji Period Mixed Metal Vases

Here we have a wonderful quality pair of small, baluster form Meiji Period Antique Japanese bronze vases with applied mixed metal decoration, circa 1900. Though clearly a pair the design of a flying bird and chrysanthemum plants with open and closed flower heads differs on each vase. Dimensions: Height 15 cm x Diameter 6.5 cm.

The water bottle used as a scale in one of the photographs is the same size as a standard 750ml wine bottle. Weight 242 and 268 g. Condition: The vases are in good antique condition with a lovely patina. Each vase has a very small, almost unnoticeable, dink and one vase has a tiny piece of inlaid metal missing on the neck.
