FINE AND UNUSUAL OTA (OTA KICHISABURO FAMILY) JAPANESE CLOISONNE AKASUKE VASE, in gin bari technique, with a unique decoration that appears to be multi-colored shells surrounding the vase all against a dark reddish background, the interior of dark red coloration, the vase is unsigned but includes an identification card showing the maker as "Ota Shippo Kisho Seisakusho, " and depicting the history of this style of cloisonne. Height 11 inches, Widest width 6 inches with no evidence of repairs, restoration, cracks or chips. Wood Tomobako Storage Box is unsigned, but the inscription reads cloisonne vase.
