Fine Meiji Period Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Vase with Three Birds, Water Scene. A very beautiful antique Meiji cloisonne vase. Seed form body with interesting water scene with three birds in flight over water, flowers and foliage. Beautiful colors on high gloss midnight blue ground! The scene is all done in intricate fine silver wire.
True Japanese style, not cluttered, very nice. This vase exhibits very high standard of fine Japanese hand craftsmanship.I estimate from the Meiji Period. The cloison detail work in silver wire was certainly performed by a master of Japanese cloisonne. This antique vase is in excellent original condition. No cracks, repairs, or dents. Some normal wear to base.
The recurring white spot is flash off high gloss finish. Approximate size is 4 1/2 tall. Please see photos as an integral part of this description. Sometimes the camera catches what I don't.
From my own personal collection, this fine vase would be an excellent addition to your own cloisonne collection. Please check my other auctions. I pack very promptly and securely.
