Fine Meiji Japanese Four Panel Silver Cloisonne Enamel Vase Signed Ando
Fine Meiji Japanese Four Panel Silver Cloisonne Enamel Vase - Signed Ando. A very, very beautiful antique. Four panels of different colorful flower designs. Incredible silver wire detail work throughout and nice top and bottom borders. Enamel shading consistent with fine early Ando making. Silver top and bottom rims. This vase, squarish in shape from above, exhibits very high standard of fine Japanese hand craftsmanship. Many artists made similar themed vases, but early Ando pieces really cannot be beat on quality of work. Signed on base rim with the' Maltrese Cross', an early mark of Ando, Jubei. Silversmith mark on base rim. This antique vase is in excellent original condition.
There is a very slight bend to top rim from light hit. Fortunately, only minimal chips to three cloisonne circles just under top rim. The recurring white spot is flash.
Size is approximately 7 1/4" tall, 4" at widest. Please see photos as an integral part of this description.
Sometimes the camera catches what I don't. From my own personal collection, this fine vase is gorgeous in hand and would be an excellent addition to your own cloisonne collection. Please check my other auctions.
