Stunning Meiji era Satsuma vase by Kitamura. One of the finest i havr ever seen. Very fine artwork showing a Feudal Lord's procession, possibly en route to meet the Shogun which was the custom. 21cm high and about 11cm at widest.Kitamura was one of the best studios/artists. Signature is faint but readable close up. Unfortunateltly there is a fine hairline crack on one side of the vase as photoed including through one of the elephant handles but it barely detracts from a very fine piece since it is not hugely noticeable unless you inspect closely. But please look at photos to satisfy yourself.
