Up for your consideration is a very fine Meiji-era Japanese cloisonne box, c. The box features a precise floral design with birds on a rich cobalt ground.
The box measures 1.75" tall, 4.5" wide, and 3.75 deep. Overall, the piece is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, or losses. There is some minor wear to the underside (as made), but no other concerns. The inner liner/lid is removable (if desired), or I can glue it back in place. The prior owner used it to store 5 "hidden" American bank notes.
