A nice, old & beautiful Japanese wood-based lacquer box in form of a fish. The fish is very lifelike in its natural size (the largest everseen agaist its counterparts), and is completely covered in lacquer: dark red on the outside with yellow belly, black the interior.

Its raised tail & pectoral fin served as handle & finial respectively. Gorgeous details of scales, fins & others, unmarked. 3.75"95mm H(igh, to tail's tip) x 15.5"393mm L(ong) x 7.5190mm W(ide), weighs 420gr.
