Fine large 19th century Japanese bronze vase/urn, c1870. Standing on raised tripod supports with stylised Elephant mask/mythical creature handles it has a lovely flowing form. It is beautifully decorated to one side of the body with a simple seascape depicting a boat, trees, foliage, cliffs.
The bronze has taken on great colour/patina following many years of use. Overall condition is good with small areas of wear/rubbing, but all very minor and as you would expect from an example of this age.
