Fine Japanese Snowing forest early spring Signed Vase w/s Box By Fujii Shumei. Signed on the bottom of the vase. Fujii Shume is famous for his "leaf technique, " in which he draws mountains to resemble the veins of a leaf, much like the intricate branches of a tree. Fujii Shumei (1936 - 2017).

Born in Arita in 1936, he began making pottery at the age of 15. He was selected for the Nitten for the first time in 1937.
