5 diameter with angular medial and recurved section above and below. The surface in mottled maroon in imitation of wear to give the appearance of a vessel worn beyond usefulness. Nonetheless, the guest was compelled by tradition to compliment the host on its beauty. Lifting the top displayed a beautiful pair of fans in true gold dust and other pigments.

The bowl is decorated in a further and two war fans, all beautifully executed to the surprise and delight of the guest who, again, was required to comment on their beauty. Beautifully made and preserved with a tongue-in-cheek story.
