Here is a beautiful Japanese classic musen shippo (wireless) enamel cloisonné vase of a colorful poppy. The flower, buds, leaves and branches are finely worked in the wireless (musen) technique to create a very subtle and striking design.
The highlight of the vase is how the artist confidently utilized a white enamel ground which is considered by specialists as the most difficult back ground enamel for an artist due to the unforgiving nature and revealing characteristics of the color. The height of this vase is approximately 6.0 inches. The width of the vase is approximately 3.0 inches. Overall, a very attractive vase in excellent antique condition with a bright and cheerful design.
