Rare Antique Japanese Mixed Metal Plate Signed "Kobayashi Shi Sei" Meiji/Late Edp Period. A Very Rare Chorogi (Crosne) Farm Scene. There is also an additional seal mark of the artist and a smudged sign on the front as shown. The base metal for is either Antimony or Spelter or Pewter. However the plate feels solid. The textured back of this Plate is very well finished.

The fine artwork on this piece suggests this was not one of those souvenir or export pieces which usually depicts Samurais and Geishas etc. The Plate was probably produced by "Kobayashi Kin Sei" before it was incorporated, hence "Kobayashi Shi Sei". Kobayashi Company later became a company that produced high quality sterling Silver products. The surface looks like it has been professionally treated to prevent further wear/oxidization.
