Fine JAPANESE Brass Meiji Period PAPER KNIFE-Embossed Quail-Plants-Vase

For sale is a fine antique Japanese Meiji period paper knife with hollow handle. The piece is 11 7/8 inches long and weighs 132 grams. The hollow handle has a domed top and a flat back. The handle is decorated with quail and plants on the front, and a vase of flowers on the back.

The pointed blade is decorated with simple flowers and bird engraving. It has not been monogrammed. Condition on the piece is fairly good. There are a few spots, tiny edge dings, and normal wear from use. The handle is very slightly loose as well. A fine old paper knife.
