Very beautiful blue-ground porcelain bowl by Meiji artist Takeuchi Chubei, decorated in unusual textured'sharkskin' glaze??? Depicting a scene with birds, wasps and flowers. Base inscribed with characteristic patent number in. Two old hairlines and minor rubbing to gilding as per photographs. Dimensions: 17.5x17.5 cm.

Date of production: Meiji period (1868 - 1912).
