FINE ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD KOMAI STYLE DAMASCENE BOX. This listing is for a fine antique Japanese Meiji period rectangular form mix metal komai style damascene lidded box with bracket feet, circa late 19th century. The lid depicts structures in a rural landscape scene with trees, mountains and a body of water. The outer edge decorated in a geometric pattern. The sides decorated with scrolling foliage.

The gilt interior is decorated with flowers and branches. Please see photos below for more details. Measurements: The box measures approximately 6.2 cm x 4.9 cm x 2.2 cm and weighs 125 grams. As shown, there is a tiny pinhead ding on the corner edge of the lid (see photo #15). Otherwise, it is in very good antique condition with normal wear commensurate with it's age and use.

The hinged lid works well. There is nothing we can do about it.
