This is a fine antique Japanese Cloisonné vase from the Meiji era (1868- 1912). Beautifully shaped body in round form with. Narrow, incurving neck, flared mouth, shoulders sloping down to a narrow base and flared out foot.
The design depicts a scene of multi color of wisteria flowers dripping from a vine growing near the top of the vase and hanging down the body. Note how the vines grow around the vase and the beautiful , fine silver wire work shows them almost intermingling on the back of the vase. The background is a highly polished obsidian black color.
