A fine quality mixed material carved 19th century Japanese minotaur? Originally I thought this was black wood but upon further inspection it appears to be horn with a fine grain. The eyes are inlaid mother of pear.

The Sash is of another material and skirt appears to be boxwood. A beautiful quality and tactile carving.
