Antique Meiji Japan Mirrored Pair Kutani Vases 17.5 Fine Artwork Maidens, Birds. DESCRIPTION: Stunningly Beautiful Antique Meiji Japan Mirrored Pair of Kutani Vases 17.5 with Fine Kutani Artwork Featuring 2 Large Panels of Chinese Ladies on one side and Exotic Birds in Florals on the other side. Delicate Hand Painted With Fine and Ornate Artwork in Rust Red and Gold Gilt. Long elegant baluster form porcelain vases. 2 large panels framed by a bird at the top with feathers wrappig around the panel.

2 borders at the bottom, one with lotus flowers and the other with banana leaf florals. 2 geometric borders over and under a floral and geometric band with ruyi scepter heads at the top. Similar artwork separates the two panels. Lots of other accent and trim colors used for great textural and color interest.

They were previously used as lamps and have holes in the bottom and marks on top. Some other signs of age or use, but I did not see any worth noting. MARKINGS: Marked under the foot with a blue mark.

AGE: Circa Meiji Era 1868 to 1912. 17.5" Tall X 5" Diameter at the Widest.

One is slightly taller than the other. However, we sell items that vary too much in size, weight and fragility to automate it.
