Antique Japanese Snuff Box Bottle, Early Fine Details Carving

2 7/8 x 1 7/8 inches, very hard wood, shows some blue polychrome on the front, possibly painted front originally. This could be much older than the 19th century. There is a split in the base, see photos, not uncommon for a piece of this period.

I'm not familiar with Japanese woods, it looks to be a Circassian walnut.
