Antique Japanese Satsuma Very large Fine Koro -Signed Hododa-Meiji period- 21cmH

Hododa was established by Takichi Hododa and used some of the most famous Japanese ceramic artists of the period. Hododa wares are rightly seen as being of High Quality Manufactured Satsuma. The Koro is signed Translated from Japanese "Made by Hododa -Satsuma Ware".

The Koro has panels depicting Immortals and Palace scenes of the Emperor's concubine(s) and children. The feet are very fierce looking Foo lions heads and the top section is decorated with " Satsuma Mons" in Gold. A very nice and impressive Satsuma Koro which displays beautifully. Over 8 inches - 2icm height and 8 - 20cm width. Item will be very well packed (box within a box).
