Here is a rare and special find. An antique late 19th century Japanese porcelain tea pot with beautifully detailed hand painted stylistically Satsuma birds and background botanicals as was common in the region during this period. This delightful tea pot is free of any cracks, chips, hairlines or staining and the intricately woven handle on metal makes it particularly interesting. The spout along with the rest of the tea pot is in excellent condition, free of any cracks, chips, hairlines or staining. There is a bit of wear to the gold gilt highlights but the hand painted design is intact and well preserved.
This antique Japanese tea pot stands 8 inches tall with the handle up and the pot itself measures 4 1/2 inches tall. The teapot measures 7 1/2 inches across at the widest point, far edge to spout. I continuously list "new" old items so please be surety check back often to avoid missing out on great finds!
