Antique Japanese Fine Porcelain Geisha with Parasol, Real Gold Trim, 17.5 Tall. This exceptional Antique Japanese Fine Porcelain Sculpture is exquisitely formed with elegant details and a meticulously hand-painted glaze. The Geisha stands holding her parasol above her right shoulder with the original tassel hanging from its handle. Note the delicate floral details in her hair and the raised beading of her necklace and hair ornament. The kimono is painted with abundant orange red and pink flowers - all trimmed in gold.
The Geisha Sculpture stands at approximately 17 1/2" tall, 5 1/2" at her widest point, and 5 at her deepest point. She weighs a substantial 4lbs. We believe the piece to be from the Kutani line of porcelain pottery and to date from the early 1960's.
The sculpture is in very good pre-owned condition, especially its age, with no cracks, chips or crazing to its glaze.
