A Fine Satsuma Ceramic Kogo (incense Box) And Cover Meji Period Japanese

Of circular form, supported on a short foot, brightly decorated in gilt and colourful enamels to the domed cover with a group of birds. The inner is decorated with flowers.

Late 19th c or early 20th century - its difficult to date. Good condition for age = as per photographs.
