A Fine Edo Period boxwood Netsuke depicting a South Sea Islander. The dark boxwood figure is shown standing dressed in a leafy skirt with a slightly protruding belly. In his hand he holds a vine attached to a leafy palm branch on his back. Himotashi to the back through the palm. It measures approximately 9.4cm high.
