A fabulous antique insect Japanese Shibayama necklace which is mounted in a 9ct yellow gold mount/bail and suspended from a later 9ct unusual yellow gold good quality chain with a bolt ring catch in fine working order which has ball detail and sets the pendant of beautifully. The signed Shibayama has three insects which have bodies of mother of pearl and shell which have a lovely iridescence to them and horn , insect themed jewellery was very popular during the 19th and early 20th century and not many pieces are available.

I have had my jeweller [who I might add is brilliant] hand make a quality new bezel mount and fit a bezel mount inside on the reverse so the Shibayama is properly secure. It is a beautiful piece which will arrive gift boxed.

Material - 9ct yellow gold. Antique 1880/1915 later gold fittings. Hallmarks/marks - Shibayama signed-chain 375-London import-g for 1981-9kt-Italy-A&Co-mount 375 and guaranteed as per listing. Measurements - chain 16 inches-pendant 3cm North to South NOT including the bail by 2.1cm East to West 4.5mm thick.

Weight - 7.3 grams. Stones - shell horn and natural materials. Additional notes - excellent quality. ALL ANTIQUE VINTAGE AND SECOND HAND ITEMS.
