The vase measures 4 3/4 inches high, 2 3/4 inches at its widest point, 1 1/2 inches at its base, and 1 1/4 inches at its top. The vase is signed on its base with a mark that appears to correspond with one of the marks given for the Hododa Company on page 235 of Louis Lawrence's definitive study Satsuma: The Romance of Japan. The vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs, and with virtually no rubbing to its gilding.
