Fine Meiji Period Japanese Cloisonne MORIAGE Enamel Vase, Attributed to Hattori

Fine Meiji Period Japanese Cloisonne MORIAGE Enamel Vase, Attributed to Hattori. A moriage enamel vase, VERY RARE, low relief where layers of enamel are added in multiple firings to create a raised surface.

A very beautiful antique Meiji cloisonne vase. Seed form body with white and yellow flowers with deep green reeds on celadon ground. This vase exhibits very high standard of fine Japanese hand craftsmanship. I estimate from late 19thc to early 20thc. The moriage enamel work was certainly performed by a master of Japanese cloisonne.

No maker mark, but attibuted to Hattori. This antique vase is in excellent original condition. No cracks, repairs, or dents. There is one small firing pit from making, pictured, in the back. Most likely a result of multiple firing to create moriage raised enamel effect.

No significance for vase of this quality and rarity. Approximate size is 6 tall. Please see photos as an integral part of this description. Sometimes the camera catches what I don't.

From my own personal collection, this fine vase would be an excellent addition to your own cloisonne collection. Please check my other auctions.
